Gabi has consistently ranked amongst the top volleyball and beach volleyball players in the UK in recent years. She has also used her excellent coaching skills as well as her organisational and administrative skills to make a massive contribution to SideOut’s growth since the day it was founded.


Gabi started her playing career at the age of 14 in her hometown of Jihlava in the Czech Republic with the club SK Modeta. Four years later she moved to Berlin, Germany and played for TSV Tempelhof - Mariendorf in the 3rd highest league in Germany until 2003. She also took up beach volleyball in Germany, where she won the Championship of the Mecklenburg Vorpommern region in 2001 and competed in various top level ‘Masters’ tournaments on the German National Tour. Back home in the Czech Republic, she also occasionally competed on the Czech National Tour, with her best finish being an impressive 5th place.


Upon moving to London in 2004, she joined the University of London (ULU) Volleyball Club, with whom she won 5 consecutive London Premier League titles, a beach volleyball Student Cup, a Volleyball England (VE) National Cup and several other tournaments. Since 2009, she has played for Polonia IMKA London and has amassed another 2 VE National Cup wins and a Super 8 league championship. On the sand, she has competed on the Volleyball England Beach Tour (VEBT) since 2005. Her outstanding record includes several awards for Most Valuable Player, Best Server, Best Attacker, Best Defender, Best Receiver and even Sportsmanship! She also holds the record for most Champions Race victories and has been crowned Queen of the Beach too.


Her coaching career began in Germany where she coached a 5th Division men’s team in Berlin for 3 seasons and a junior girls’ team for one year. In England, she has served as coach at the University of London and at the London Beach Volleyball Club.


Gabi is also a qualified Level 3 personal trainer with a degree in Sports Science and, outside of SideOut, she works as a fitness manager and full-time Mum!
